We carry it first
Nothing reaches the catalogue until someone here has taken it out for a full season. A spec sheet cannot tell you where a strap wears through.
We supply trail crews, survey teams and backcountry rangers with equipment chosen for one reason: it keeps working on the fourth day, in the weather, a long way from the truck.
None of this is complicated. It is just uncommon, because most of it costs more up front than it appears to be worth.

A four-person trail crew needs a different kit from a two-person survey team, even when the line items look identical. We ask about the work.
Send it back and we will fix it if fixing is honest. When it is not, we say so — and we tell you what actually failed.
Before a crew's first order we spend an hour on the phone going through the season: elevation, water, how far from a road, who is carrying what.
It takes longer than taking an order and it is the reason our returns rate is what it is.
Book a sessionEvery account includes the fitting session and the repair service. The difference is how much we hold for you.
$400 /mo
For a single crew running one season at a time.
$950 /mo
For outfits running several crews who need stock held back.
We do, but we will usually tell you to buy locally if there is someone closer. Equipment that needs a fitting is worth buying from someone you can reach.
Send it back at your cost and we will assess it for free. If a repair will hold for another season we do it and charge for materials. If it will not, we say so rather than patching it.
Yes. The account is for crews who want stock held and a fitter who knows the work — it is not a gate on the catalogue.
An hour on the phone before the first order is worth more than any amount of browsing.
